    Accessing courses and webinars

    All courses, webinars, and related materials are accessed through  IREM Learning.

    Students are responsible for monitoring their registration deadlines and course progress in IREM Learning.

    IREM does not provide extensions for courses, certification exams, management plans, or webinars. Students are responsible for completing all requirements before their enrollment expires.

    The chart below outlines the amount of time students have access to courses and webinars. IREM does not provide extensions. Students are responsible for completing all course requirements (including evaluations and exams) before their enrollment expires.

    Technical requirements for Live Online and Classroom courses

      • Laptop computer or desktop computer (If you are taking this course in a classroom, you will need to bring a laptop to class)
      • Calculator
      • Reliable internet connection
      • Built-in or external webcam (Live Online)
      • Speaker to hear the class (Live Online)
      • Microphone to speak to the class (Live Online)
      • Ability to access a Zoom meeting via a desktop or laptop computer (Live Online)
      • If you are taking this course Live Online via Zoom, you must have your webcam turned on for the duration of the course to receive credit for attending.

    Course completion requirements

    Course completion requirements vary by offering and may include attendance, participation, exams, assignments, evaluations, or other required activities.

    Students must satisfy all applicable requirements to receive course credit, certificates, certifications, designations, or badges.

    Attendance alone does not guarantee successful course completion.

    Attendance requirements

    Classroom and Live Online courses

    Attendance is one of the requirements for successful course completion for classroom and Live Online courses.

    Students are expected to attend all scheduled course sessions in their entirety and actively participate throughout the course session(s).

    Students who arrive late, leave early, or miss portions of a course will be ineligible for course completion credit.

    Refunds, transfers, or other accommodations will not be provided due to failure to meet attendance requirements.

    Additional requirements for Live Online courses

    In addition to the attendance requirements above, students attending Live Online courses must:

      • Join the course at the scheduled start time
      • Keep their webcam turned on and remain visible on camera throughout the course unless otherwise directed by the instructor
      • Participate in course activities, discussions, and breakout sessions as required

    Live Online course times are typically listed in Central Time (CT). Students are responsible for verifying the course start time, converting course start and end times to their local time zone, and joining the course on time.

    Students who fail to meet Live Online participation requirements will not receive course completion credit.

    Course and certification exam deadlines

    Course and exam deadlines are established at the time of registration and are visible within IREM Learning.

    Students are responsible for completing all course requirements prior to the published deadline.

    What happens when a course expires?

    Once a course, exam, management plan, or webinar expires:

      • Access is permanently removed
      • Remaining exam attempts are forfeited
      • Expired registrations cannot be reactivated
      • Progress cannot be restored
      • A new registration and payment are required to regain access, if applicable

    Students are encouraged to complete requirements well in advance of their deadline.

    All courses, webinars, and related materials are accessed through IREM Learning.

    End-of-course exams

    Some courses require successful completion of an exam as part of the course completion process.

    Exam requirements and attempt limits vary by offering and are communicated within the course offering in IREM Learning.

    Students are responsible for reviewing course requirements and completing all required exams before their enrollment expires.

    Certification exams

    Certification exams must be completed in accordance with the requirements of the specified certification program.

    Students must schedule and complete their certification exams before the deadline – no exceptions.

    Students are encouraged to schedule certification exams well in advance of their deadline.

    Additional certification exam policies, including scheduling and retake requirements, may apply.

    All certification exams must be completed with a Live Online proctor and are accessed through IREM Learning. For more information on our Live Online proctoring requirements, view the Live Online Proctoring page.

    The chart below shows each exam and the respective completion deadline. The deadline is available in the student’s registration confirmation email and on the dashboard in IREM Learning. IREM does not provide extensions for certification exams. If you miss your certification exam deadline, your registration expires and cannot be reactivated. A new registration and payment are required before you can take the exam.

    Results for all certification exams are calculated immediately upon submission. An exam score of 70% or better is needed to pass the CPM, ARM, ACoM, Community Association Management certification exams, as well as the MPSA.

    Technical requirements and considerations for certification exams

    Required equipment and technology
      • Laptop or desktop computer
      • Reliable internet connection
      • Built-in or external webcam
      • Working microphone and speaker
      • A standard calculator or the calculator on your computer (no phone calculators)
    Exam restrictions
      • Cell phones and tablets are not permitted once the exam begins.
      • Only one screen can be used for the exam. You can use an external monitor if your laptop is set to mirroring and closed; however, you will need an external webcam.
    Additional considerations

    Students are responsible for ensuring their equipment and internet connection meet all published technical requirements before beginning a certification exam.

    Due to system limitations, interrupted exam sessions cannot be resumed from the point at which the interruption occurred. Students will not be able to continue an exam from where they left off.

    Cancellations, transfers, and refunds

    To have consideration for a registration refund or transfer, we require that you contact us in advance of your course/exam/webinar at cancellation@irem.org or (800) 837-0706. The chart below describes our cancellation policy based on the timeframe in which you provide written notice. IREM does not provide extensions for any courses, exams, management plans, or webinars.

    Note: IREM may from time to time find it necessary to cancel a classroom course, Live Online course, or webinar. In such cases, your registration fee will be fully refunded. However, IREM assumes no liability for any expenses incurred other than the registration fee.

    Note: Registrants who are unable to attend the live webinar will continue to have access to the webinar recording for 30 days following the live event. Failure to attend the live webinar does not qualify for a refund outside of the cancellation policy above, nor can the 30-day deadline be extended.

    In rare, documented circumstances outside a student’s control, IREM may review a request for accommodation. Review does not guarantee approval. Any accommodation is granted at IREM’s sole discretion.

    Circumstances that do not qualify for review include work obligations, travel, failure to schedule an exam, failure to monitor deadlines in IREM Learning, technical issues on personal or employer-provided devices, corporate security restrictions, and other circumstances within the student’s control.

    ADA reasonable accommodation requests

    IREM provides students with reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA/Section 504 and applicable state law. Accommodation requests must be received at least 10 business days (5 business days for MPSA) before a scheduled exam/course. Requests received after these deadlines will not be accommodated.     What happens if I miss my deadline?

    Do I need to keep my camera on during a Live Online course?

    Yes. Students attending Live Online courses must keep their webcam turned on and remain visible on camera throughout the course unless otherwise directed by the instructor.

    What time zone are Live Online courses listed in?

    Live Online course times are listed in the time zone specified for the course. Most public IREM offerings are listed in Central Time (CT).

    Students are responsible for verifying the scheduled course time in IREM Learning and converting it to their local time zone if necessary.

    Can I transfer my registration?

    Transfer eligibility varies by offering. Refer to the Cancellation, transfer, and refunds section above.

    Can I receive a refund?

    Refund eligibility varies by offering. Refer to the Cancellation, transfer, and refunds section above.

    What if I cannot attend a live webinar?

    Registrants who are unable to attend a live webinar will continue to have access to the webinar recording for 30 days following the live event. Refund eligibility is subject to the Cancellation, transfer, and refunds policy above.

    Can I record a course or webinar or use AI transcription software?

    No. Students may not record or transcribe classroom courses, Live Online courses, or webinars using any technology or method. Recording and transcription of course sessions are prohibited to protect course content, intellectual property, exam integrity, and the learning experience for all participants.

    Will there be class recordings I can download?

    No. Recordings of classroom and Live Online courses are not available for download for later viewing unless specifically stated as part of the course offering.
