The technologies transforming property management aren’t on the horizon, they are already delivering measurable results. From AI copilots that support leasing and tenant service to predictive maintenance powered by connected sensors, today’s tools are reshaping how properties are operated, maintained, and experienced.

In this webinar, James Scott, Director at the MIT Real Estate Transformation Lab, will unpack the most impactful technology trends redefining property management today. Focusing on practical applications rather than hype, this session will explore how smart access systems, integrated building technologies, and automation across PMS, CRM, and work order platforms are driving operational efficiency and improving tenant outcomes.

Key Takeaways:

  • Identify the most impactful technology trends currently reshaping property management.
  • Understand how AI copilots, predictive maintenance, and smart building systems improve operations and tenant experience.
  • Gain clarity on emerging concepts such as digital twins, edge IoT, and low/no-code platforms.

James Scott, who is working with IREM as Technology Innovator-in-Residence, is Lead Researcher for the MIT Real Estate Innovation Lab (REIL). REIL merges MIT’s school of real estate with its technological capabilities to create an innovative real estate tech research platform. Among other projects at REIL, Scott has been responsible for creating a global database of all real estate-oriented technology companies, and has identified over 1,800, with that number continuing to rise. His experience with this project further validates the impact of technology on the world of real estate. As Innovator-in-Residence at IREM, Scott’s goal is to identify innovations that can help IREM members operate their buildings more efficiently, improve their properties’ competitive positioning, and better serve tenants and clients.
